D-type connectors

These connectors contain two or more parallel rows of pins, surrounded by a D-shaped metal shell that provides mechanical support, some screening against electromagnetic interference and ensures correct orientation. These connectors are available as receptacles with fixed pin contacts fused into a glass dielectric insert, the contacts being either eyelet, solder bucket and or pcb contacts, eg; 15 contacts in a normal 9 way D-type shell.
